The location of Villa Artisti Marathon is just 30km from Eleftherios Venizelos airport and 42km from the center of Athens, the exact distance of the classic Marathon run. One can visit nearby the Marathon Museum and the Tomb of Plataion, which was built in honor of the dead soldiers of the battle in Marathon (490bc), one of the most significant battles in Greek history.
A few minutes’ drive you reach the archeological area of the Ramnounta, where you can catch the ferry boat to Nea Styra or South Evoia.
7 km away from the center of Marathon one can visit the unique marble dam with its artificial lake. Nature reserves cover all the landscapes around the lake, a host to thousands of migrating birds around the world. A great meeting point for the birdwatchers.
Along the seacoast one can find a plethora of tavernas offering satisfaction for every palate especially those seeking the catch of the day seafood.
Rafina port, the gate to the Cyclades islands, is 20 minutes away.
